Jacob Rothschild with Vietcong fighters

Jacob Rothschild who had been STE’s VP Customer Support has sent us this picture.
Jacob worked for Scitex Europe between the years 1980 and 1990. All along Jacob has contributed to the Scitex Israel Pension plan and is now benefiting from it. He recently retired and is back in Israel. He and his wife Shula are spending quality time with their 5 grandchildren as well as traveling to nice places.
He wrote us: “In the picture we are with Vietcong fighters in a recent trip to Vietnam and Singapore”.

Nostalgia

Eitan came to Flash Networks from Aladdin Knowledge Systems where he was the R&D Manager and Site Manager of Aladdin Haifa for over 3.5 Years.
Previously he held senior managerial positions including R&D Manager for Software Developments & Member of the Division Management at Scitex in Herzlia for over 15 years.
Founded in 1996, Flash Networks provides mobile data networks optimization solutions. The company?s NettGain products are in operation at mobile carriers such as Vodafone Italy, AT&T Wireless, SFR and the T-Mobile Group. Flash Networks is a privately held start-up, backed up by leading international venture capital funds.

Scitex “last supper” cartoon (Succary)

The talented Leonardo Da Shmulico has drawn many cartoons and illustration about
Scitex, during his long career at the company. Since leaving Scitex, Shmulik Succari has been
providing graphic design, creation and illustration services to corporations in
under the name of
Studio Arteshock

This illustration can be seen [and many others] at the Scitex section of Shmulik’s website. The

Stanley_Barkan

Stanley Barkan and a friend have been spotted at the Photokina tradeshow in Germany in September 2004. (Click here to see large picture)
For several years now, Stanley has been the Cheif Sceintist at the Leaf group in Herzlia, Israel.
At the show, Creo/Leaf has launched the Leaf Aptus digital camera backs ? the Leaf Aptus 22 with 22 mega pixels and the Leaf Aptus 17 with 17 mega pixels. These new digital camera backs feature built-in, large (6 x 7 cm) displays enabling practical image evaluation, focus confirmation and editing.

Assa Bar-Lev joined Scitex, Israel in 1970 as the principle mechanical engineer.
After a total of 19 years with the company, working on the “Response” systems & related projects (ELP; ERAY; RAYSTAR) he left Scitex and joined the Boston based ECRM as VP R&D.
Several years ago he retired, still living in Boston,

1970 Scientific Technology Lab (later became Scitex)

Assa Bar Lev has sent us this picture (and others to be published later) from Boston.
It was taken in November 1970 at the lab in Scientific Technology (what later became Scitex) in Rehovot, Israel.
In the picture from the left: Assa Bar Lev, Amiram Chen (sitting) and Jacob Laor. The group was busy developing a fast servo system for X-Y Stepping Stage for TAC (Teledyne) positioner.

The ExScite Ron J. Gilboa has Joined Kodak Versamark as Vice President of Marketing. The appointment is effective August 16, 2004.
Kodak Versamark, Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of Eastman Kodak Company, is in fact the Scitex Digital printing operation in Dayton Ohio, which Kodak acquired from Scitex Corp. earlier this year.


Rony is well known in the print industry as a consultant with InfoTrends/CAP Ventures where he most recently served as director for the company?s Print On Demand Printing and Publishing Consulting Service. He has over 15 years of corporate and user experience in graphic arts and electronic imaging and technical expertise in digital prepress and job workflow. Prior to an 8-year career with CAPV, Gilboa held product management and product marketing positions at Scitex America.
The ExScite Nachum “Homi” Shamir, president and CEO, Kodak Versamark, and vice president, Eastman Kodak Company, welcomed Rony in his new position.
In his new role, Rony will have responsibility for product management and marketing of all Kodak Versamark products and services, including the V-series and D-series systems and application and system software.
