From 1990 to 1993, he worked at the Israeli Ministry of Defense Mission to New York as a senior technological researcher. From 1985 to 1990, he served in the technology unit of the Israeli Defense Forces Intelligence Corps as senior project manager for large communications systems. Amir is a founding member of the IEEE 802.3af Task Force leading the development of an industry standard for remotely powering Ethernet devices over the LAN infrastructure.

Continuing a 10 years tradition, a few of the more sophisticated Scitex (Israel) ladies have been gathering around once a year to reminisce and update each other on where everyone (ex-Scitex) is and to cement their friendships. In the summer of 2001, after Beth, Shelagh and Ronit had left Scitex, the group met and captured the digital moment for ExScite.

For old Scitex veterans, attached is a photo taken during a charming evening in a nice Italian restaurant, recomended by the expert on Italian food, Zvi Gat (Gate) in Milan, during the 1979 GEC show. GEC show was the most exciting and important milestone for Scitex, where it became the leader in the prepress technology and market after showing the first integrated pre-press system – the Response system (Who remembers that?).

Europe’s Apax Partners and JMI Equity of the US will pay some $1 billion for the Israeli-founded Paradigm Geophysical developer of software for the oil and gas exploration industry.
“It is exciting for Paradigm to team up with Apax and JMI, With their backing, Paradigm is ready to further accelerate its top line and market share growth and capitalize on the opportunities its market position and leading technologies present,” said Eldad Weiss, Chief Executive Officer of Paradigm.
The ExScite Eldad Weiss founded the company in Herzliya in 1987. In 2002, Fox Paine paid $100 million for the software vendor.
Paradigm’s software solutions are leaders in the marketplace. Its software enables engineers to optimize drilling and production decisions through the analysis of vast quantities of seismic and well-log data, spanning the entire spectrum of the exploration and production lifecycle from basin evaluation through to development and production.
“Paradigm has invested considerable time and money in developing market-leading intellectual property, and employs many of the leading scientists and software engineers in the sector.
