Allison Druin- receives award

ExScite is proud to announce that Allison Druin (allisond@umiacs.umd.edu ) received the University of Maryland‘s Outstanding Faculty of the Year Award. She was nominated by her undergraduate students. 57 faculty were nominated this year and the award winner was selected by the Parents Association for Undergraduate Education. Allison is Assistant Professor at the U of MD college of education and was at STA/CSD as a product manager for almost 4 years in the early ’90s.

Moshe Waldman- Mahshava

Shlomo Waldmann shlomow@machshava.co.il is the active chairman of Machshava, the Or_Yehuda, Israel based company. Shlomo was 11 years with Scitex in Israel and held senior management positions, in manufacturing and operations.
Machshava Technologies Ltd www.machshava.co.il , an 18 months old software with 80 employees, is one of few startup companies that Shlomo is involved in, through his (Israeli) holding company Shadmon investments Ltd.

Dan Barel now at Comview

We have recently reported that Hanan Yossefi had joined the Israeli company Comview as CEO. Well we have also found out the there are other ExScite’s there too: Beth Orshalemy betho@comview-vs.com Marketing Information Manager who was with Scitex Israel for 20 (!) years and Dan Barel danib@comview-vs.com VP R&D who had joind the company 1 1/2 years ago, after 16 years with Scitex and later with Scidel, Israel. Comview Visual Systems (www.comview -vs.com ) provides software for multiple video projector systems setups

Prior to joining iKnowledge, Dani was the CEO of CTI Squared Inc. At CTI, he launched the company into the US market, developed brand name recognition, and secured its presence with initial deals. Together with Yacov Levi (an ExScite himself) he founded Levy Trajman Management Investment LLC (LTMI), a Lexington MA based investor at high-tech portfolio of companies. Prior to LTMI, he was VP Marketing and Business Development at Lernout & Hauspie Speech Products working with Yacov Levi (then, the CEO). Dani was Director of Product Management and Marketing at Scitex America in the late 80’s and early 90’s.

The nice Eva Duvdevani, now at Nice

After a couple of years with NICE as Training Manager, and about one year with InterWise – the live eLearning company, Eva Duvdevani ( eva@backweb.com ) has now joined BackWeb Technologies in Ramat Gan http://www.backweb.com /as Senior Director of Education for Europe and Israel. Prior to Nice, Eva had spent 12 years at Scitex Israel.

The Ultimate Herzka

Dani Herzka ( daniel@herzka.com ) has just completed a match-making deal between CreoScitex and Ultimate Technographics, incorporating the Ultimate imposition engine with CreoScitex Spire color servers, to enable automatic, post-RIP page assembly and imposition layouts on-the-fly during printing. “This has been an exciting project, which combines the best imposition software with the best color server,” added Daniel (Dani) Herzka, an industry consultant who has been closely involved in the project. “It has demonstrated how two companies can successfully work together to deliver a superior product for the benefit of their end users”.
Dani runs a successful consulting business from Long Island New York.

William Von Gonten joined the Sports Illustrated magazine

William Von Gonten pajamacat@earthlink.net has joined the Sports Illustrated magazine in NY (an AOL TimeWarner publication) as imaging specialist, after 3 years at STA.
As he registered to the ExScite Members dBase, William wrote: “ I have spent the last 5 yrs in state mental hospitals due to bad experiences with Dolev 100s. Sleep with sliced cucumber on my eyes to relieve blindness caused but defective barco monitors. 3 yrs with scitex were the best years of my life!!”

Alon, Spector @ Precise Software

Shimon Alon (alons@precisesoft.com ) is the CEO of Precise software since 1997. He joined Precise after 14 years at Scitex where he served in various management, sales, marketing, and customer support capacities. From 1995 to 1996, Shimon was in charge of the Graphic Art Division. From 1995 to 1996, Shimon was Scitex America CEO and earlier he was STE Managing Director and VP customer support.
Steve Spector spectors@aol.com joined Precise Boston office as Director, Business and Program Development. From ‘89 to ’94 Steve was at STA. Prior to joining Precise he was with Indigo and Polaroid Graphics in Boston.
