We announced just over a year ago the appointment of the Exscite, Steve Zunde as President of PriscoDigital. After an ironical turn of events where Zunde was President of Scitex Vision Americas through the acquisition by HP, PriscoDigital has now signed an exclusive distribution agreement with HP Scitex.
Zunde’s organization will now be the commercial printing distribution arm for HP Scitex, whereby they will sell the full line of industrial inkjet systems to the commercial and industrial printing markets across the USA. The agreement is strategic for both companies as it ties PriscoDigital to the industry technology leader, enabling Prisco’s extensive sales resources and in-depth knowledge of the commercial printing sector to bring leading-edge products to the marketplace for HP Scitex.  Prisco has close to 100 sales professionals full time in the field working out of nine locations across North America.

It was also just over a year ago that Steve underwent kidney-donation surgery at Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore, MD where he has now initiated the longest living donor kidney chain in the world, having enabled 8 people to receive a kidney transplant to date, as a result of his altruistic donation after his kidney was flown via helicopter from Johns Hopkins Hospital to Wake Forest Medical Center in North Carolina. The full strory was recently published in the New England Journal of Medicine and was aired by CBS News several weeks ago.

Steve joined Prisco from Hewlett-Packard Company where he served as President of Scitex Vision Americas until the acquisition by HP, and then filled several business planning and strategic roles within HP’s Imaging & Printing Division. Prior to his role as President of Scitex Vision Americas, Steve held senior management positions within Scitex Corporation Ltd. where he served as the President of Karat Digital Press, a startup and joint-venture between Scitex and KBA, which was then fully acquired by KBA with Steve then serving as the President of KBA’s digital division in North America. Prior to this, he was the President of International Paper Company’s’ global printing chemicals business which was then acquired by Fuji Photo Film of Tokyo.

Prisco is the world’s leading manufacturer and distributor of offset pressroom chemistry and process control equipment. Headquartered in Newark, NJ, Prisco has provided quality products and superior support services to customers for over a century. PriscoDigital focuses on providing a complete line of the most innovative UV Inkjet printers available on the market today backed by superior technical and customer support with the same after sales service that Prisco has become known for.

I work in a joint venture called Zijin-Lead in Nanjing, Jiangsu province, China.
I just moved recently to this little city of over 7 million people. My wife will join me soon and this will be our third relocation after Milan and Charlotte, NC. Nanjing in out of probably most tourism routes in China, and actually, there isn’t something special to see here, despite of its ancient and interesting history. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nanjing
There is no Jewish community here and my wife I and will double the Israeli congregation: there are 2 Israeli students here, who speak, read and write Chinese. The overall foreigners’ population is not so big and most of them are Koreans. It is not easy, the least to say, to live here without knowing the language so we shall have to put some efforts on this issue. This is a new, different, interesting and exciting relocation that, based on my little experience from the two months living here, cannot be compared to any other place we have lived in the past.
Earlier in May I was invited to a dinner with a local family who have identical quadruplets girls, born in regular delivery on the same time. They told me that their birth was announced all over China and they still suffer from journalists and paparazzo. The girls are now 10 years old, excellent students, sing, dance, and speak little English (see picture from the dinner).

A little industrial design can make a product go a long way. With experience working for Apple through the US-based frogdesign firm, and now major clients from the computer industry, such as Dell, HP, and Samsung, the Israeli industrial designer Gadi Amit, 46, is running a tight and successful ship at the American design firm he founded: NewDealDesign, based in the San Francisco Bay Area. Fast Company and BusinessWeek consider Amit’s industrial design firm to be a top 10 in America, and in consumer electronics, he’s an easy top five. Recently partnered with Shai Agassi, the founder of the electric car company Better Place, Amit took on the role of designing Better Place’s electric car charging ports. San Francisco and Hawaii have already committed to test-driving the project, and in Israel says Amit, who is an old friend of Agassi, the NewDealDesign recharge stations are already on the streets. The first ones were inaugurated last December. “We’re moving forward – moving very fast and the project is very tangible. It’s real and it’s happening,” says Gadi. “My contribution is to make sure the product is cost-effective, user-friendly and has a significant signature, one that’s playing well with the urban setting.”
