Nostalgia

We have found a nice picture of Dov Berman (sitting) and Shmulik Succary (standing) working in the electro-optical development lab in the late 80’s.

On 29th August 2003 at Hakusui Golf Club 2 hours away from Tokyo, a few former STN ExScite’s met for a friendly game. Since golf is a serious business, in particular in Japan, the group decided  to establish the “Response Match“, an Ex-Nihon-Scitex Golf Competition, which will take place once a year. The 1st Response Match’s winner was Shiga-san !!, no wonder his smile is the widest… The digital picture was sent to us by Shin-ichi Sugiyama, who since leaving Nihon Scitex provides digital imaging consulting services in Japan. He commented that “all the participants were happy although we are all getting a bit older“.

This photo was taken during a lunch break in Herzlia around 1996-1997.

This photo was taken around the summer of 1997 at the Scitex America Midwest office in Rosemont, IL. It was sent to us by Laura DeLaurentiswho wrote us that the event was Victor Chayon’s going away party.

The picture of three customer support managers of Scitex in Europe was taken at the STE offices in Brussels in 1980.
Standing from the left: Jacob Rothchild, Shmulik Raz and Yigal Maharal. The picture was sent to us by Shmulik.

In the middle of the 1980?s, the days when Scitex was at one of its financial crisis, there was no love lost between Efi Arazi (then the CEO) and the bankers/owners of Scitex.
This wonderful caricature (click to see full screen) was created by the talented ExScite Shmulik Succary, who so elegantly captured the spirit of the times.
For those who do not read Hebrew, Efi is saying (a real quote, mind you?) ?..And God will pay [the loans back] to those imbecile bankers??

On a warm summer day, 25 years after working together as a team, this group of ExScite application and service engineers met in Herzlia Israel.
The middle of the 70?s was the period when Scitex was the king of the computerized imaging for textile design. This group provided application and hardware support to the first customers in America.
You may recognize those faces (they hardly changed, have they?) sitting from the left: Eli Israeli , Hanan Gilutz , Micha Michaeli , Miri [Bik] Weiss , Aharon Nizani .

This piece is the first “real text” the Scitex R&D generated with the Scitex Texta system on the Raystar flat-bed plotter, back in March 1986. The image has been provided by Gadi Shoshan, VP Sales and Marketing at Israeli company Coppernett.
