Nostalgia

This picture was taken at the Montparnas Tower / Floor 46, in Paris on 10 Jan. 1998. Those were the first days of the in POS in Europe. The ?98 New Year?s dinner celebrated the establishment of the first Print On Demand OEM team in Europe.
Eli Israeli was the POS Manager and the late Domingo Nieves was the European Manager.

In 1988 Scitex celebrated its 20th anniversary. The event was celebrated outdoors in Ramat Gan, Israel. During the formal part of the celebration, the president Efi Arazi presented token of appreciation to a group of veteran employees, who had joined the company on its first 12 months (1968/9).

Yafo, south of Tel Aviv Israel May 4, 1981.Mike Grossman took the three Americans who came to Herzlia for applications training out for dinner.The Brazilian or Argentinean restaurant in Yafo serves plenty of meat on large skewers.

In May 2006, the ExScite’s Efi and Dalya Arazi hosted a party in their new home in Herzlia Pituah (not far from what used to be called Scitex corporation).
The nostalgic evening was exciting and ExScite’ing. Several dozens of Israeli high-tech executives and politicians, as well as former friends from Efi’s days at the helm of Scitex and EFI, came to show their love to Efi.
The evening was well attended and included good food, dancing, a short movie highlighting Efi’s lifetime achievements, and even a personal recorded message from the new Israeli Prime Minister Mr. Ehud Olmert.

Michael Salemi(Ex-STA) celebrated his 25th birthday (half a life ago….) at the Herzlia’s Daniel Tower hotel Bar.

The article ?TURNING OVER A NEW LEAF , The Leaf Volare and Cantare digital camera backs? appeared in 1999 at the Photographer Magazine.
Leaf Systems Inc began as an American company, which in 1992 was acquired by the Scitex. The original Leaf Digital Camera Back produced 2048 x 2048 pixel images of such outstanding quality that this camera alone confirmed the future of high quality digital acquisition. I visited Scitex Corporation Ltd in Israel in May 1999, to discuss and use their forthcoming single-shot camera back, the Leaf Cantare.
A visit to a camera manufacturer speaks volumes about that company, Scitex. Research, design, software, manufacture, assembly, testing, packing and marketing is all done in-house by a close-knit team. I saw it all.

All the above live and work in Tokyo.

In addition:
* Rami Liron-  who lives both in Tokyo and in Israel represents a few Israeli companies in Japan, among them XMPie and Babylon.
* Aharon Nizani-  whose visit to Tokyo has been the trigger for this rare get-together, lives in Irvine California, where he manages his own consulting company Strategic Business Consulting.

One of Stephen Burdick Design (Boston MA) customers was Scitex.
In the picture, you can see details from a poster designed for Scitex Corp. to demonstrated the company’s variable printing capabilities. The poster was printed out live at a print conference in the US with various “personalized” logos in the balls aloft.
We simply liked the graphics and decided to post it here.
