This piece is the first “real text” the Scitex R&D generated with the Scitex Texta system on the Raystar flat-bed plotter, back in March 1986. The image has been provided by Gadi Shoshan, VP Sales and Marketing at Israeli company Coppernett.

Scitex Sells Creo Shares

Creo Inc. announced on June 5th 2003 that Scitex Corporation Ltd. sold 3 million common shares of Creo today through the facilities of the Toronto Stock Exchange (TSX) in an arranged sale to various financial institutions. Scitex continues to hold 3.25 million of the original 13.25 million Creo shares acquired in April 2000 in exchange for its digital preprint and print-on-demand assets.
In November 2001, Scitex divested 7.0 million shares. The remaining Scitex shareholding of 3.25 million common shares represents approximately 6.5 percent of the outstanding Creo shares.

Textile imaging system team- dinner 1972

This picture of a dinner party in Israel was sent to us by the ExScite Moshe Broudo. Back in 1972, Scitex was the global leading company in imaging for textiles.
In this picture the product team is celebrating the first shipment of the “Mark 2” color separation scanner for textile design.

Nachum_Korman

The ExScite David Amir,  CEO of NUR Macroprinters Ltd, announced that the company is consolidating its manufacturing in Israel, relocating the manufacturing elements from Texas to Rosh Ha?ayin, Israel ?thus increasing the prospects for improving our efficiencies and margins of the corporation.”
He also appointed the ExScite Nachum Korman, the former managing director of NUR Europe as President of Nur Macroprint America in Austin Texas.
Nachum joined the NUR Group in 1999 as President of NUR Middle East & Africa, and became Vice President of NUR Europe S.A. in July 2000 when the regional subsidiary companies were restructured. Previously, Nachum served as Operations Director and Sales Director for the Middle East and Africa at Scitex Corporation. Prior to this he held a Sales Logistics Management role at Scitex Europe S.A. following his earlier career at Elbit and Optrotech Belgium.

Cloned Response system

This picture was taken at the final-assembly facility of Scitex in Herzlia in 1983. It was when Scitex was planning to be the giant of the prepress industry, and reinvented itself and its product line? that is literally invented?.  The upper right section of this 1983 annual-report centerfold was created by an amazing new digital tool? CLONE BRUSH to give the awesome impression of a giant assembly line. It worked well, don’t you think?

Scitex Q1/03 results, revenues unchaged, much bigger loss

 

Scitex Corp. has published its Q1/ 2003 financial results:

The Main highlight:
·       Scitex holding in Creo are now only 12.7% (value:$197M) as Creo’s quarterly revenue continues to slide to $5.7M from $8.2M last quarter.
·       Scitex Corp total revenues for Q1 were $62 almost unchanged, while the loss has mushroomed from $1M to $6.75.
·       ScitexVision, after the integration with Aprion, is still a $23M operation, with quarterly losses $3.76M.
·       Scitex Digital Printing remained unchaged.

Korem (Ex-STCL, now with ScitexVision/Aprion) has sent us this picture, taken in the winter of 1982.
It was one of the first ELP and Super-Scanner Service mission in the Eastern Block, in what was once Czechoslovakia, in a village named Dvure Kralove ..
In the picture sitting on the left (the Ex Scitex Israel)- Dudu Shamir and sitting grinning in the middle – Aharon Korem.  The others in the picture are the customer’s operators.
